Style Inspiration from Tom Hardy

We’re big advocates of taking style inspiration from a wide range of sources. Today, we’d like to draw your attention to the sartorial choices of actor Tom Hardy.

London-born Hardy has appeared on both the big and small screens in productions such as Black Hawk Down, Inception, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Revenant, Peaky Blinders and Band of Brothers

Hardy is an award winning actor who certainly knows how to wear a suit. He was named one of GQ’s Best Dressed Men in 2013, 2014 and 2015, and has dazzled on many a red carpet thanks to his great taste in tailoring.

What we really appreciate about Hardy’s style is that he wears his suits in a way that’s true to who he is. Thanks to the wide range of villains he has played in his professional life, his image is about as far from a squeaky clean accountant as it’s possible to be!

We think Donatella Versace put it quite succinctly when she said:

“Tom Hardy is everything I love in a man - handsome, charismatic, dangerous. He wears suits in a way that makes you want to see what’s underneath, which is how tailoring should be, right?”

Whether wearing a three piece suit and tie, a classic white shirt or a wool overcoat, Hardy manages to look effortlessly cool.

Those aspiring to wear their tailoring a la Hardy might want to take a closer look at some of the details he often adds to his look. He’s rarely seen in a suit without a tie pin and often wears a waistcoat with a pocket watch. Though Hardy is a well-documented fan of the classic overcoat, he’s also often pictured in a suit and trench coat.
