Riz Ahmed is a British actor, rapper and activist. He’s known for appearing in indie films including Four Lions and The Reluctant Fundamentalist. In more recent years he’s found success in Hollywood blockbusters including Jason Bourne and the Star Wars Anthology film Rogue One. Ahmed is also part of the hip hop group Swet Shop Boys, who have earned both critical acclaim and commercial success.
Thanks to his award-winning acting and rapping, as well as his commitment to activism, Ahmed was named in 2017’s Time 100 list of the most influential people in the world.
Of course, we wouldn’t be talking about Riz Ahmed here unless he had also made waves in the style world. Ahmed has made a big impact on the red carpet circuit thanks to his take on modern, slim cut suits. He certainly seems very at home in tailoring, not unlike his fellow Oxford alumni.
One of the things that makes Ahmed’s style so successful is his unwavering confidence in what works for him. Ahmed knows that slim cut tailoring flatters his frame, and he relies on this silhouette to take him from black tie event to press junket and back again.
Take a look at some of Ahmed’s best looks and you’ll find solid proof that sticking to that same silhouette is anything but dull. This may be a gentleman who knows what he likes in terms of suit shape… but he certainly embraces style experimentation in other ways.
The shape may be fixed, but here’s a great example of Ahmed flaunting colour and pattern in one dapper outfit.
Want to see another style ‘rule’ effortlessly broken? Here’s a masterclass in pairing black and beige.
Who says a dinner jacket has to be black or navy? We think this royal blue option is fantastic.
Saying that, let’s end with proof, if it were needed, that Ahmed looks incredibly sharp in classic black.
