If you don’t know the name Rami Malek yet, we suspect you soon will do. This multi award winning actor has appeared in TV dramas including Mr Robot, 24, The War at Home and The Pacific and films such as the Night at the Museum trilogy and Twilight. It’s fair to say, too, that even bigger things are in the pipeline for Malek. In November last year it was announced that he has been cast as Freddie Mercury in the upcoming biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.
Acting isn’t the only sphere where Malek is capturing attention. He has built something of a reputation for being one of Hollywood’s most stylish emerging actors. His penchant for gracing the media’s red carpet best dressed lists has earned him a nod from the fashion world, and he recently starred in Dior Homme’s spring campaign.
We’re not going to hold back here: we really like what Rami Malek does with his wardrobe. Here is a gentleman who is fearless enough to stray from the status quo and showcase his personality without sacrificing sophistication.
Want to know how he does it?
He’s not afraid to do something a bit different with his tailoring, and we think he looks surprisingly good doing so. Here’s Malek in a navy suit with a breton top and white sneakers.
He understands the power of a texture shift. At first glance this outfit it made up of a black jacket, black trousers and a black printed shirt… but the fabric choices make it far more than the sum of its parts.
He’s not afraid of a large scale pattern. This grey suit with oversized checks would be daunting for some, but Malek carries it off with a plain black shirt and a lot of confidence.
He understands the value of a contrast sports jacket; and can even make it work in sage green velvet.
He can pull off a novelty shirt. Don’t believe us? Here’s the proof. Wondering if it’s just a fluke? Here’s proof he can do it more than once.
