Happy New Year! We hope you’re enjoying a bit of well deserved downtime after a week of fantastic celebrations.

If you’ve been giving some thought to your wardrobe goals for 2018, this post is for you. We’ve put together four style resolutions that are perfect for taking your look up a notch.

1. Develop a signature style

You don’t have to think about clothes all the time to be stylish. If you want to look good in the office, on dates and at parties (or anywhere else, for that matter) without having to make too much of an ongoing effort, consider developing a signature style.

A signature style is a kind of unofficial ‘uniform’ that you can turn to whenever the occasion arises. Our advice would be to start with a well cut suit and experiment to see what kind of shirt, shoes and accessory combination feels most like you.

2. Experiment with colour

Colour is set to be big news again this spring/summer season. Introducing a few colourful pieces to your wardrobe could be an excellent way to update your look without taking too much of a style risk.

If you’re not sure where to start, we recommend opting for some colourful chinos or a blazer… though obviously not at the same time!

3. Prioritise fit

In our opinion, the number one factor into whether or not you look great in your tailoring is the fit. The better your suit is cut to fit your body, the more comfortable it will be for you and the more flattering it will be for you.

The best way to get the perfect fit is to work with a tailor to create a bespoke suit.

4. Upgrade your accessories

If you’re happy with your tailoring but want to add a little something extra to your look, you may want 2018 to be the year you upgrade your accessories.

Little details can make a big impact on the overall impact of your outfit, so consider factors such as your wristwatch, your belt and your tie, and how they could be improved.
