How to Turn Heads at a Summer Wedding

The summer season is an excellent time for a wedding. Not only do the sunny days and lighter evenings lend themselves well to big celebrations, but we think summer is an excellent time to push the boundaries, sartorially speaking.

It’s easy to look sharp at a wedding, assuming you have an expert tailor on your side. If you’re aiming for a classic look that’s undeniably elegant, we recommend a beautifully fitting navy, light grey or beige suit.

If that’s not quite what you had in mind, keep reading for our tips on how to stand out from the crowd, for all the right reasons.

Think colour

There are no hard and fast rules to say what colour a formal suit should be. Most gentlemen will wear grey, navy or beige for a summer wedding… so making a different choice is almost guaranteed to get you noticed.

How bold you decide to go here is entirely up to you. Royal or pale blue can work well if you want to stand out without going all out, as can white or cream. If, however, you want to really make sure everyone knows you’re there, consider tones of pink, burgundy, green or even mustard.

Think pattern

Pattern is a great way to bring your personality to tailoring. Checks and stripes are the most common ways to do this, but they are by no means the only options.

If you want to invest in a wedding suit that will bring you major style points, why not speak to your tailor about creating something a little bit different? Florals, polka dots or geometric patterns are all possibilities here.

Think accessories

Of course, you may want to start with a relatively classic suit and use accessories to make the look completely your own. Cravats, waistcoats, bow ties and pocket squares can all help you to turn heads in the very best way.
