Many of our customers are asking us, “How can we be measured for a new suit given the social-distancing policies currently in place.”?
This has been very much on our minds as you might well imagine, and the answer is that we have established several alternatives. Let's begin by considering the case of someone for whom we have already made a suit(s) or shirt(s):
My measurements haven’t changed.
Use an Existing Pattern You have for me
-
If we have previously made you a suit or shirt (or any item of bespoke clothing) we have a pattern on file for you. This includes details of your unique posture and figuration requirements.
-
This means that if the garment still fits as you would like it to, we can exactly replicate the new garment based on that pattern. All that would remain would be to select a new material(s) and discuss any changes to style details with your tailor (by telephone or Video Call eg Zoom/Teams/Hangout).
-
Through our previous years of annual Online Offers we are experienced in, and have further refined the process for selecting materials either online or with your tailor by Video Call.
I’m an existing Customer and my measurements have changed.
Using the Digital Measuring App
-
What if you have hit either the Home-Gym or the Snack cupboard during Lockdown and gained or lost a few Lbs?!? Then we have launched our “Tradition Meets Digital” measuring process. Simply put, we have an app that allows you to measure yourself and all you need is your mobile phone or tablet.
-
The measurements taken from the app are Incredibly Precise and tell us everything we need to know in order to adjust the pattern we already have for you to your latest fit. As usual with Mullen & Mullen we will be delighted to talk to you following the taking of the measurements and to discuss with you the nature of any changes you would like to make in light of them.
-
What we would like to stress is that the digital measurements are then pored over by Damien, Dominic or your tailor, and the changes to the pattern are made by your expert tailor- not merely taken automatically from the app. Measurements taken from apps and blindly inputted into predefined pattern are where so many mistakes occur.

Using the Digital Measuring App
-
We would love to meet you (in whatever manner works best during this period, e.g Virtually if necessary), and we would love to make you a beautiful suit.
-
We have launched our “Tradition Meets Digital” measuring process. Simply put, we have an app that allows you to measure yourself and all you need is your mobile phone or tablet.
-
The measurements taken from the app are Incredibly Precise and give us a huge steer in how we will set about creating your pattern. As usual with Mullen & Mullen, we will be keen to talk to you following the taking of the measurements. This will help us gain an understanding of what it is you would like to see in terms of style and fit. This “conversation” can take place digitally via Skype/Zoom/hangout etc and will replace what would usually be an initial consultation.
-
We may ask for some supporting photographs or a video-call to best asses your unique posture and any figurations you may have. (this is a key differentiator in the M&M experience and approach).
-
