Each month we ask our expert tailors to address one of your most frequent questions. This month we’re covering what you should wear to meet your tailor.
If it’s your first time meeting with a tailor, you might be unsure about what to expect. Firstly, let us assure you that there’s nothing to be worried about! Our tailors are completely on your side and will make the process as seamless as possible.
We usually meet with clients in their home or office, so we’ll likely be fitting around the rest of your plans for the day. Please don’t feel you need to wear anything special for the occasion; your usual daily attire will be absolutely fine.
However, if you’re hoping to order a garment for a specific occasion, such as a wedding suit, it may be helpful to wear the shoes and shirt you plan to wear with it, or at least something similar. This can help us all to make sure your final outfit will work together perfectly.
Some tailoring clients like to wear a suit they already have and love the fit of, as this can give us a very clear idea of the style and shape you have in mind.
Ultimately, our tailors all want you to be comfortable throughout our consultation. Though you may wish to wear something that shows your personal style and the tailored look you’re hoping to achieve with your next garment, there’s no rule to say this is necessary.
Because, of course, your tailor will be able to visualise and create your perfect suit whatever you wear for your consultation.
Next month we’ll be asking our tailors to cover another frequently asked tailoring question. Sign up to our newsletter to make sure you don’t miss it.
