4 Simple Secrets to Totally Rocking Your Knitwear
Cashmere Jumper

Knitwear can be a tricky wardrobe item to pull off: get it right and you look fantastic, get it wrong, and you'll end up looking like your granddad. That's why we're sharing our four simple secrets to totally rocking your knitwear...

1. Choose knitwear to suit your age

Some patterns may suit the older man, others may suit the younger man better. If younger, think about bolder colours, like our Heliotrope, block colours and flattering styles. Cable knits can work at any age, and see your knitwear as an investment: a good quality cashmere or lambswool jumper will last - both in terms of wear and in terms of being timeless.

2. Choose knitwear to suit the season

It's important to remember that knitwear is not just for winter. Lightweight cable knits can be layered under a coat in autumn, and can be used as the main part of your look in the spring. Have a variety of knitwear in different weights and materials to suit the changing seasons: and don't be afraid of cardigans, which are no longer just the domain of your granddad.

3. Understand the different between formal and casual

Knitwear can suit both looks. Try layering a cashmere jumper over a smart shirt and tailored trousers for a more formal look, or a chunky cable knit with a t-shirt, chinos and deck shoes for a more casual style. Don't be afraid to experiment.

4. Get the fit right!

When it comes to knitwear, a good fit is vital. Choose an item that is too baggy and you'll look sloppy, and bear in mind that you may be layering so don't choose something excessively tight. A well fitted item of knitwear can give an elegant look to both smart and casual outfits.
