Style Inspiration from Hu Bing

If you’re not already familiar with Hu Bing, let us introduce you. Hu Bing is a Chinese model, actor, singer, producer, host and designer. He is a household name across Asia and has been awarded numerous accolades thanks to his success as a model and an actor.

In the last year, Bing has been making big waves in the UK menswear industry. In spring 2016, Hu Bing was named as a Menswear Ambassador for London Fashion Week by the British Fashion Council. This was a particularly exciting move by the council, as Bing was their first ever International Menswear Ambassador.

It’s easy to see why the British Fashion Council chose Hu Bing as an ambassador. This is a gentleman who most certainly knows how to dress! Bing is a strong supporter of traditional tailoring, but always wears it with his own spin.

Bing is a big advocate of good quality clothing. He has been quoted saying; ‘good quality travels through time… It’s better to learn about brands than about price labels.’

We think Bing’s true style strength is that he’s not afraid to take risks. Sometimes he does it with shapes, sometimes he does it with patterns, and sometimes he does it with accessories. Whichever option he chooses with each outfit; it makes for a delightfully quirky but eternally sharp style.

Want to see what we mean?

Bing made this traditional three piece checked suit completely his own with the addition of two-tone tassel loafers.

This is a man who knows his knitwear. Who knew a blue striped sweater could look so good with pinstripe trousers and a shirt and tie?

Colourplay is another key hallmark of Hu Bing’s style. We love this combination of patterned emerald blazer, purple scarf and a gold bow tie.

Bing also understands the value of texture. Here he has combined three grey garments with very different textures to achieve a rich, layered look.
